How Does Chiropractic Care Help?

Studies show that Chiropractic care can help reduce pain better than many medications. It can assist in the relief or even the treatment of some health and body issues like neck pain, mid back pain, lower back pain, headaches, hip pain, knee & ankle pain, shoulder pain, elbow & wrist pain, headaches, sciatica and scoliosis.

I Didn't Hear A Sound. Does That Mean The Adjustment Didn't Work?

You do not need to hear a sound to tell that an Adjustment worked or not.  In most low force techniques and with instrument adjusting techniques, a sound will not occur but that does not mean that an adjustment was not accomplished. The sound that is often heard following a Chiropractic Adjustment is produced by the synovial fluid which is a lubricant that is found in all joints throughout the body. Synovial fluid contains dissolved gases and during an adjustment the slight movement causes a release of pressure. Again, you do not need to hear a sound to know whether or not the adjustment worked or not.

Does Insurance Cover Chiropractic Visits?

Yes, Chiropractic care is covered by insurance. Chiropractic care is included in most health insurance plans, including all major medical plans, workers' compensation, Medicare, some Medicaid plans, and group health insurance plans for state, city, county and federal employees, among other group plans for both small and big businesses.

How Safe Is Chiropractic?

Chiropractic is widely recognized as one of the safest drug-free, non-invasive therapies available for the treatment of neuromusculoskeletal complaints. Although chiropractic has an excellent safety record, no health treatment is completely free of potential adverse effects.

Is Chiropractic Care Safe While I'm Pregnant?

Chiropractic care is usually a safe, effective practice during pregnancy. Not only can routine chiropractic care help manage pain in your back, hips, and joints, it can also establish pelvic balance. That can provide your baby with as much space as possible over the course of your pregnancy.

Can I Become Addicted To Chiropractic Adjustments?

Chiropractic is not addictive or habit forming. There are no effects on the neurotransmitters in your brain, which is how addiction to drugs occurs. Also, adjustments do not change your physiology to make you dependent on continued treatment.

Is Chiropractic Safe For Children?

Chiropractic care is safe for children of all ages including newborns. The Chiropractic adjustment performed on children is gentle and is either made using the Chiropractor\'s hands or a small instrument tool. The adjustment and the use of other Chiropractic therapies help relieve aches, pain and restore normal spinal balance to children.

How Much Schooling Does A Chiropractor Have?

Doctor of Chiropractic programs typically take 4 years to complete to earn the Doctor of Chiropractic (D.C.) degree and require a 4 year undergraduate degree. So typically this requires 8 years of schooling combined to complete. Then a Chiropractor must past 4 Parts of National Board Exams and the Physiotherapy Board Exam to be eligible to obtain a State License.

Can I See A Chiropractor If I've Had Back Surgery?

Yes. You can come see us. We will perform a thorough exam and then take any necessary x-rays. We will also review your medical records from the surgery. Then we will determine which treatments will be safe and effective for you.

How Long Will It Take To Work?

This depends on the extent of your problem, typically Chiropractic care helps patients feel noticeably better shortly after receiving treatment. Most improvement on average takes place within 1 to 4 weeks from starting Chiropractic care. The duration can be longer than this average for complex musculoskeletal conditions.
